The Reverend Jacob Houston Buckner was Melvin’s father who was born in Maryland, 25th August 1891 and died 4th September 1958. He married Annette F (Annie) Garfinkle (18th July 1890 – 1916) on the 11th January 1914. She died when Melvin was about a year old.
