12 Carte de Vistes

Twelve Victorian Carte de Visites, most of which probably relate to the Shaw family of Elsworth Rectory, near St Ives in Huntingdonshire (now Cambridgeshire).

The photographers are from diverse places. Most are from Saffron Walden, with odd ones from Cambridge, Huntingdon, Leicester and Leeds.

Only one has writing on the back (detail here), stating it is the family doctor at Saffron Walden, and is dated August 1870. He is wearing rubberised gloves and is holding a listening device a (Victorian stethoscope).
