Reginald Harry Bird (1916-1996)

On the 29th June 1938, Reginald Harry Bird (14 August 1916-1996), aged 22, was issued with a British passport. Reginald was an Assistant Institution Master at Warwick Union Workhouse (which became known as Warwick Infirmary in 1930). He was born at Shipston-on-Stour, Stratford-on-Avon. In July 1938 he travelled to Nazi Germany. Four years later, in July 1942, he married Winifred Margaret Kitt (1922-2005) at St. Germans, Cornwall – they had one son.
